testeval

the MATLAB ® - based Data Analysis Tool

Introduction

Efficiency during product development becomes more and more significant. While development periods are being reduced new products become more complex, involve numerous electronic subsystems, high speed data busses, must meet increasing quality requirements ...

More and more test runs become necessary and the amount of data to be handled per test increases rapidly. With modern simulation techniques the comparability of test- and simulation results has become a major issue.
testing solutions - the MATLAB Experts: testeval Data Analysis Software: Background

History

The aircraft manufacturer FairchildDornier faced these challenges in 1998 working on the new 728 Jet. A modern data evaluation software was indispensable. This software should offer access to all local and remote testing facilities. Data should be transferred quickly over the internet from and to all facilities and partners, requiring access restriction and data encryption. Comparison of data from different facilities, using different hardware and operating systems, and between different tests should be possible. The time consuming creation of test reports should be optimized. The flexibility to meet new requirements upon short notice was most important. Of course, highest security was a major concern. To avoid any development delays, testeval had to be placed on top of the existing systems without requiring any changes. Testeval was the solution to all the above requirements!

After FairchildDornier filed for insolvency in 2002, testingsolutions acquired all rights to develop and market testeval. See our references to find an extract of well-known companies which already rely on testeval.

Potential

The design goal at FairchildDornier was to reduce the required engineer time of 70 hours per test hour by an average of at least 15%. In addition to the acceleration of the product development, this would have resulted in savings of 1.9 million Euro of salaries only for the flight test phase, not regarding the development tests.
